july 4th, 1952. he is married with lina uribe. They have two sons Tomas and Jeronimo.
He is the older son of the cattle dealer Alvaro Uribe Sierra, died in 1983 in an attempt of kidnapping perpetrated by the communist guerrilla of the revolutionary armed forces of colombia.

he specialized in Administration and Management of Harvard's University. In 1998 and 1999 he was an associate teacher of the University of Oxford in England, thanks to the Scholarship Simón Bolívar of the British Council.
